About Jim

Jim was born and raised in San Diego. Jim has been working in the building industry since he was twelve years old. He started out by sweeping out homes and digging trenches on the weekends in the summertime for his dads contracting business. Jim’s dad, Donald, began in the building industry in the 1930’s by selling lumber in Arizona and in the 1940’s moved to San Diego and opened a lumber yard.

He got his contractors license in 1947 and started building subdivisions all over San Diego County until the age of 85. In 1983 Jim acquired his contractors license and starting building homes alongside his dad in San Diego and Palm Desert. In 1988 Jim incorporated into what is now James P. Morrison, Inc and having started at such a young age, Jim has gotten to work with older tradesmen who have shown him that hard work, attention to detail, and taking your time to make sure that everything has been done to the owners satisfaction. He feels fortunate to have been able to learn the business from the best and he applies what he learned from these tradesmen on every project.

FIRESTORM 2007

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Yeatts for allowing us the privilege of rebuilding their home after the firestorm of 2007.  It was an honor to be able to help rebuild their home and lives after such a devastating loss.  Bernie and Pat, you are awesome!
